Agent-Autonomy-Selector-1

Quickly Access Your Preferred Agent Creation Method With Our Agent-Autonomy Selector

Streamlining agent creation is crucial for efficient analytics. Our latest release introduces the Agent-Autonomy Selector, which simplifies the process by providing three distinct methods to create agents. With this feature, you can now quickly access the approach that best fits your needs. In Gartner’s recent report, “The Current State of AI Agents for Enterprises”published on 9 May 2025, Ben Yan, Yogesh Bhatt, Pieter den Hamer, and Tom Coshow write:

AI leaders need to educate business users and manage stakeholders’ expectations on scope, limitations and value accordingly. They could augment or automate some business processes where agent capabilities are applicable, and could create business value under certain circumstances. However, business stakeholders need to be informed that AI agent 1.0 solutions struggle to simultaneously achieve high versatility, capability and reliability.Based on current development of AI agent 1.0 solutions, they can, at best, excel in two of these areas but have to compromise on the third”The Recommended Mode of the Agent Autonomy selector focuses on delivering Capability and Reliability. Based on the user's intent, Aible selects the most appropriate Agent Template or users can manually select a template from the Template library. Each template is specific to a function such as sales analytics for structured data and is thus not very Versatile. However, these templates are pre-tested to deliver on Capability and Reliability. Of course, the wide variety of templates available, over 60 as of July 4th, offers Versatility as well.Agent Autonomy High (which leverages NVIDIA’s NeMo Agent Toolkit) focuses on delivering Versatility and Capability. With Autonomy set to High, Aible automatically generates agents for you that automatically plan, call approved tools, and execute the necessary steps to deliver on the users request. This is similar to the deep research capabilities introduced by many AI vendors, but the Aible agents also leverage tools like automated deep analysis of structured data (Aible Explore capabilities) and automated data evaluation & preparation (Aible Sense capabilities) that are unique to Aible. Of course, like most completely autonomous agents, Aible’s High Autonomy agents may respond differently to identical requests, thus making them less Reliable. To address this, high autonomy agents can use higher reliability Template-based or Step-by-step agents as ‘tools.’ This approach makes the overall agent more Reliable. For those who prefer a more hands-on approach, the Step-by-step autonomy setting enables them to manually build any agent they want, giving them full control over the process. This delivers on Versatility and Reliability out of the box, but creating more Capable agents requires manual effort as you need to specify each step as opposed to letting the template or the autonomous agent do that work for you. Organizations that are more focused on building predictable agents that they fully understand may wish to start from the Step-by-step setting. Others may use Step-by-step to stitch together smaller agents, such as an Order to Cash agent built out of smaller agents built from individual templates. This enables them to build more Capable agents with less manual effort overall. With the Agent-Autonomy Selector, you can focus on what matters most - creating agents that drive valuable insights and inform your decisions, rather than getting bogged down in the creation process itself. This feature is designed to make agent creation more efficient, intuitive, and accessible, regardless of your level of expertise.
